Inaspace designing new KFC national rollout

By Architecture, Inaspace, Interiors, Technology

We are thrilled to now release the new KFC look! In September last year KFC Australia asked us to create their new front of house brand standard design. Over the last six months Inaspace collaborated with various designers and architects to create a KFC design guide. This brand new look will be used by all architect and design consultants in Australia working on KFCs. We also created a virtual reality model for the KFC team to walkthrough, including the global CEO.

Authenticity was the brief, and we have blended modern finishes to highlight the history of the company. The spotlight is back on the Colonel and the “Kentucky Fried Chicken” brand with new graphics and murals. The signage is a throwback to the original brand with the bucket and stripes.

2019 marks 10 years of Inaspace working on KFCs and this project is particularly special. It’s incredibly rewarding knowing that our designs have been recognised, leading us to contributing to the brand on a national scale. The new design will be rolled out across new stores and adapted for existing store upgrades. Be on the lookout for some cheeky hidden quotes and graffiti style murals!

Appreciating local suppliers

By Architecture, Interiors, Uncategorized

Since opening a new office in Melbourne last year we have found so many incredible local products and suppliers, so we thought we would share a few of our favourite hidden gems.

We recently stumbled upon Elegance tiles while searching for local tiles for one of our regional Victorian projects. The Elegance website is so intuitive to navigate which makes our job easier to select from their huge range. They have every bit of information you could need and have included descriptions of tile types (what on earth does rectified mean?!) as well as explaining important info about tile slip ratings – beautiful! We can’t wait to get some of their products in our projects.

Here are a few quick ones that we love.

Aboutspace is one of our go to suppliers with an incredibly large range of lighting at an awesome price point. They are also able to do custom lights for any bespoke projects! We would recommend going straight to their reductions page as they always have a lot of beautiful lights being discontinued at low prices.

We found Adelaide based furniture makers Senkki at Melbourne Denfair. Whilst cheap contemporary scandi designs are every where now, it’s refreshing to find local companies who can offer hand made furniture with Australian timber. Their quality craftsmanship is second to none and we really appreciate their attention to detail!

Finding quality suppliers and products we can rely on and trust is an important part of our job and we’re looking forward to seeing what new suppliers we find this year through all of the trade expo’s and exhibitions!

How our new renders compare to a completed project

By Architecture, Concept, Inaspace, Interiors, Technology, Uncategorized, VR

It’s always exciting to see the final product of a project you’ve worked months on but it’s also refreshing to see how close our renders end up being to the completed photos as this is something we strive to achieve in the design development stage to ensure out clients understand what the final build will look like! Here is a snapshot of our concept of KFC Edmonton compared to final photos!

The ultimate list of must-see Melbourne cafes, bars and restaurants

By Architecture, Inaspace, Interiors

When you have the opportunity to fly to Melbourne, you take full advantage and that’s exactly what we did. The team took a trip a couple of weeks ago to visit Denfair – a design trade event which was a massive room filled with different suppliers of furniture, lighting, homewares, upholstery + fabrics as well as a selection of artists. It was great to be introduced to new brands – local manufacturers and products that we don’t have in Brisbane. We had a wander around and then headed back into Melbourne to check out the new trends.

We had set a rough list of cafes, restaurants and bars to visit and managed to get through quite a few every day leaving some time for spontaneous finds.

The perfect foodie day would begin with waking up early enough to get a good spot in line at Lune on Rose ST in Fitzroy for an amazing croissant or cruffin – baked in a glass box within an old warehouse. While you are there you may as well hang around for lunch down the street at Transformer – a must do restaurant for vegetarians! The fit out was befitting of the food served – very green inspired! Head on into the CBD to Oliver Lane for dinner at Lucy Liu which serves up INCREDIBLE Asian food. you’ll find an overload of timber battens, red lights and an open kitchen which is still the Melbourne trend it seems. If you’re still hungry / have another day in Melbourne / want to swap out veggies for a meat marathon then Gazi restaurant on Exhibition St is the way to go! Get the lamb to share and you will leave a very happy human.

We also managed to squeeze in some shopping, a trip to the theatre where seeing Matilda the musical brought back some childhood nostalgia, and we snuck into a few hidden bars that involved entering through a concealed laneway door, a freezer door and also a special knock to enter.

Award winning bar in Brisbane CBD

By Heritage, Inaspace, Interiors

Congrats to The Gresham bar on winning Bar of the Year! Well done boys! We are incredibly proud of your success.

We love a good heritage project, so we thoroughly enjoyed working on The Gresham a couple of years ago. This restaurant guide award is just another to add to the long list of awards they’ve already got under their belt. We highly recommend popping in for a drink next time you’re in the city.

Newly refurbished club in Redcliffe

By Inaspace, Interiors

We are proud to have worked on The Redcliffe Leagues Club together with Paynter DixonGrayLightBaresque and Brintons Carpets and we’re all very happy with the results. Even better, the client is thrilled with what we pulled off. In fact, we’ve received positive feedback from the client, the client’s client and everyone else who collaborated on the project! If you’re in the area, be sure to visit the club and let us know what you think of the fit out.

New restaurant in Rosalie

By Inaspace, Interiors

The Bounty Restaurant and Bar is Rosalie’s newest restaurant and bar with a beautiful seasonal menu and incredible fit out, if we do say so ourselves. Don’t take our word for it though, check out these photos of the space by the very talented architectural photographers at Camera Obscura.
