When Woollam’s brought in Inaspace to redesign their corporate headquarters we paid significant attention to staff interaction. A business such as theirs, involving multiple employees on single, long-running projects should revolve around common space. This focus expanded to include social spaces which are quite often defacto workplaces as the setting for work discussions during breaks and before office hours. By addressing these issues in our design (which included a front of house lunchroom, irregularly open to the reception area) we achieved the breakdown old territories and increased workplace interaction, all in the aim of our shared goal to make collaboration commonplace.
